About 6 months ago, I began needle felting and fell in love with the process! All of my felted sculptures are made from 100% wool. Needle felting starts with a piece of wool roving which has been prepared and dyed, and a sharp needle that has barbs on the end of it is poked repeatedly into the wool hundreds of times. You must be extremely careful not to stab your fingers with the needle as you work. Eventually, the wool turns into a solid felt structure, sculpted the way you like. Each scultpure is created after hours of daydreaming and using the felt needle, and is finally assembled to be a unique sculpture. Each one is usually 3" - 4" tall and is strictly for adults because it is small and vulnerable. Each sculpture prefers to live on a shelf or a curio cabinet, waiting to be admired. Each creation is an original One Of A Kind (OOAK) work of art. I do not use any molds or patterns in their creation, making sure each sculpture is unique.
